How to Attract Clients with a Soul-Aligned Business Website
What makes a great website? Easy. One that attracts clients who want to buy what you’re selling.
But you don’t just want any old client, you want soul aligned clients.
What is a soul aligned client?
👉🏼 They just get you, like your close friends do
👉🏼 They trust your judgement
👉🏼 They’re easy to work with
👉🏼 It’s a total pleasure working with them
👉🏼 They pay on time
I’ve had the pleasure of working with many soul aligned clients in my business so I know a thing or two about this. Everyone mentions how much my website is such a great representation of the real me.
They felt like they knew me already.
That’s what’s important in attracting your soul aligned clients, they get the know, like, trust factor from the get go of being on your site for a short amount of time.
I want that for you. Let’s do this!
Here are #5 Ways to Attract Customers with a Soul-Aligned Website
Always bring it back to the client, how you can help them and showing them you care
Throughout my site I speak about how passionate I am about helping heart centered business owners from coaches to healers to pretty much all service based businesses in the personal development world.
I care deeply about my clients and seeing them succeed. I don’t just take the copy & photos from them and whack them on their site if I believe we could make the copy a little better or their images more aligned with their vision. I like to go the extra mile.
People like to hear and know that someone cares about their work, that they’re not simply a transaction for them. I know if you’re reading this you’ll be exactly the same as me with your own clients, so let that show when you’re writing your copy. Let your clients feel heard and understood. This is exactly how to attract customers that you’ll love working with and them with you.
Photographs reflecting the real you
If you’re like most people, you cringe at having your photograph taken. When you need to have lots of photographs for your website it can feel even worse! But don’t be too nervous, like I said you are not alone.
Find a local photographer, have a call with them, see if you have a connection and if you feel confident they’re a good fit, go get your photos taken, because...
Having professional photos of you on your site is REALLY, really important.
Your customers want to know who it is they’ll be working with, you can’t just hide behind your business. People like to interact with real life human beings haha.
Make sure your photos aren’t taken fuzzily on an old phone by your friend who you know is naaat the best photographer.
You want to appear friendly and approachable to your customers.
If your business is of a more corporate nature, you don’t have to be laughing your head off, you can look a little more serious. I can guarantee you though, that a photo of you smiling is a hell of a lot more approachable than one of you looking all stern faced!
Imagery that is considered
Stock photography has come a long way these past few years which you should be pleased to know. Gone are the days where stock photography is cheesy and a little (ok a lot) staged - super fake looking.
Numerous free stock photo websites are cropping up where professional (and amateur) photographers are uploading their work for free and boy oh boy is that work great! Unsplash.com is a great website for you to find beautiful free images.
Try and make your imagery more considered and in line with your branding visually.
If you want to attract your ideal clients then picking imagery that makes them feel warm and happy is definitely the way to go.
Copy that sounds like you
I LOVE websites where the copy sounds exactly like the person whose business it belongs to. When you think of Richard Branson’s Virgin, the copy is always very tongue in cheek and has a lot of humour within it. That’s because as the founder he is very much like that, his business reflects his personality.
The copy on my website is very chatty, not super formal and hopefully a little bit funny (she says!).
When I wrote my copy, I was very intentional to be myself and that was how I attract customers - by being me. The me that I was with my friends. I love having clients who become my friends, so that was very intentional.
I know that a lot of my clients who are coaches perhaps can’t become super chummy with their clients because there have to be certain boundaries in place. That shouldn’t stop them from injecting their friendly selves within their copy but perhaps having a calming, caring flow of copy would work better for them.
Be helpful
Having a resources page or a blog can be such a great way for your clients to get to know you first and see the incredible things you’re sharing with them for free.
I’ve had so many of my clients go through old blog posts and watch my How to create a brand you love workshop before they start working with me. Never underestimate the power of giving back and being super helpful.
The type of people that read / view what you have to offer will feel attracted to your business on an even deeper level than most. Those are your ideal dream clients right there!
They’ve taken the time to get to know you!
Rid Yourself of Brand Shame with a Website You Love
Over the years I’ve had many clients who haven’t quite known what they want their website to look like, they have some vague idea of colours but other than that, they’re at a loss. Of course that’s my zone of genius, designing websites but I find it’s always good if you, the client, has a better understanding of what you want/like.
If this sounds like you too, I’d like for you to create a brand vision board in Pinterest. This is where you start collating ideas of things you’re visually attracted to. Read my blog post here that goes into more detail about this… How to Create a Brand Identity You Love
Perhaps you’re more of a visual person and like to be learn on video, you can watch my workshop here >>> How to create a brand you love workshop
I really hope that this blog has helped you to not only see what makes a great website but one that attracts your soul clients and those last few tips will help you really hone in on the visual side of things too! Happy website creating :)
